Abstract
This report updates the Anker Living Income Reference Value for rural Burkina Faso to 2025. In the original report, the value for 2020 was CFA 86,367 (USD 146). The updated Anker Living Income for 2025 is CFA 108,183 (USD 181). This revision reflects cumulative inflation of 25.3% between June 2020 and June 2025. Without adjusting for inflation, the 2020 estimate would not provide families with a basic but decent standard of living in 2025, as its purchasing power would have declined. It is also noteworthy that the West African CFA franc has appreciated against the US dollar since early 2025. Consequently, due to current exchange rate volatility, the living income values expressed in US dollars should be considered indicative only.
