Reference Value Report: Living Wage Report and 2025 Update for Urban Cambodia

2025 Reference Value Update Report: Living Wage Report for Urban Cambodia

Abstract

This report updates the Anker Living Wage Reference Value for urban Cambodia to 2025. In the original 2021 report, the Living Wage was estimated at KHR 860,922 (USD 210) per month, which corresponded to the Net Living Wage, as there were no payroll deductions at that time. The updated Anker Gross Living Wage for 2025 is KHR 969,623 (USD 242) per month. This is composed of a Net Living Wage of KHR 950,231 (USD 237) and a social security contribution of KHR 19,392 (USD 5). The cumulative inflation rate between 2021 and 2025 was 10.4%. Without adjusting for inflation, the 2021 Living Wage would no longer be sufficient to ensure a basic but decent standard of living in 2025, due to the erosion of purchasing power. Social security contributions were calculated based on the most up-to-date legal framework, which includes a 2% contribution on the gross wage. No income tax applies at this wage level.
