Reference Value Report: Living Wage Report and 2025 Update for Urban Cameroon

This report updates the Anker Living Wage Reference Value for urban Cameroon to 2025. In the original report, the value was comprised of a Net Living Wage, plus income tax and a social security contribution. The updated Anker Gross Living Wage is comprised of a Net Living Wage, plus mandatory pay deductions which would need to be paid by law as a contribution to social security (4.2%), housing fund (1%), and income tax (16.5%). This revision reflects cumulative inflation between the original estimate and the present. Without adjusting for inflation, the Living Wage estimated in 2023 would not be sufficient for families to have a basic but decent standard of living in 2025, because the purchasing power of the Living Wage would have decreased. Mandatory deductions were calculated using the most up-to-date tax laws.
