This report updates the Anker Living Wage Reference Value for rural Congo to 2025, based on cumulative inflation of 9.0% from June 2022 to June 2025. The updated gross living wage consists of a net living wage plus social security and income tax. Without this adjustment for inflation, the original net living wage would not be sufficient for families to maintain a basic but decent standard of living today, as its purchasing power would have declined.

2022 Reference Value Report: Living Wage Report for Rural Congo
Abstract
The Anker Living Wage Reference Value for rural Republic of Congo reflects the wage required for workers to afford a basic but decent living standard in a typical rural area of the country, based on 2022 estimates. This figure incorporates a 95% confidence interval, reflecting the level of certainty in the estimate. The Anker Reference Value is comprised of a net living wage—i.e., take-home pay—plus an additional amount which would need to be paid by law as contribution to social security and income tax.
