Abstract
This report updates the Anker Living Income Reference Value for rural Madagascar, taking into account inflation since the original report. In 2020, the estimated living income for rural areas was MGA 512,693 per month. Between June 2020 and June 2025, cumulative inflation reached 46.6%. Without adjusting for inflation, the 2020 estimate would not provide families with a basic but decent standard of living in 2025, as its purchasing power would have declined. The updated living income for 2025 in rural Madagascar is estimated at MGA 751,633 per month.

Abstract
The Anker Living Income Reference Value for 2020 for rural Madagascar is 512,693 Ar. per month (140 USD), with a 95% confidence around it of 451,792 Ar. to 581,885 Ar. This is the estimated monthly cost of a basic but decent standard of living for a typical rural family in Madagascar.
