YUCATÁN, MEXICO - LIVING WAGE
We estimate a living wage of MXN 12,350 (USD 602) per month for formal full-time workers in the rural areas and small towns of Yucatan, Mexico, as of July 2022. Our analysis utilizes data from primary sources collected in focus groups with workers in the fabric and clothing manufacturing industry, and through surveys of local food prices, rental prices, and costs of health care services. It also utilizes data from secondary sources, such as the household income and expenditure survey, the employment survey, and the population census, for thirty municipalities of the Northwest (excluding Mérida and eastern municipalities), Central Coast, and Northeast regions of the state of Yucatan.
