The updated Anker Living Income for 2025 is MZN 12,517 (USD 196). This update reflects accumulated inflation of 37.2% from June 2020 to June 2025. Without adjusting for inflation, the 2020 Living Income would not be sufficient for families to maintain a basic but decent standard of living in 2025, as its purchasing power would have declined.

This report updates the Anker Living Wage Reference Value for rural Mozambique for inflation to June 2025. The Living Wage was estimated at MZN 7,684 (USD 120) in the original report for 2022. The updated Anker Living Wage for 2025 is MZN 8,957 (USD 140), comprised of a Net Living Wage of MZN 7,560 (USD 118) plus social security and income tax of MZN 1,397 (USD 22). This adjustment reflects the cumulative inflation from June 2022 to June 2025, 15.6%. Mandatory social security contributions and income tax are calculated based on current tax laws. Without accounting for inflation, the living wage estimated for 2022 would not be sufficient for workers and their families to maintain a basic but decent standard of living in 2025, because its purchasing power would have decreased.
