2025 Reference Value Report: Living Wage & Living Income Report for Rural Nepal
Abstract
This report updates the Anker Living Income Reference Value and the Anker Living Wage Reference Value for rural Nepal to June 2025 by adjusting for inflation since the original report of December 2024. In 2024, the estimated living income for rural Nepal was NPR 30,379 (USD 227) per month. Because there was no inflation between December 2024 and June 2025 in Nepal—in fact, a slight deflation of 0.3% occurred—this report maintains the 2024 values in local currency and only updates the exchange rate. The updated living income for June 2025 is NPR 30,379 (USD 221) per month.

2024 Reference Value Report: Living Wage & Living Income Report for Rural Nepal
Abstract
This report provides estimates for the Anker Living Income and Living Wage Reference Values for rural Nepal for 2024, as well as contextual background about the country’s geography, demographics, economy, poverty, labor market, and standard of living. The Living Income for Rural Nepal is estimated at NPR 30,379 (USD 227) per month and the Living Wage is estimated at NPR 18,525 (USD 139) per month. The report concludes by comparing these Reference Values to existing incomes and wages and highlighting gaps to living income and living wage.
