Reference Value Report: Living Income Report and 2025 Update for Rural Papua New Guinea

This report updates the Anker Living Income Reference Value for rural Papua New Guinea to June 2025. In the original report from 2020, the estimated living income for rural areas in Papua New Guinea was PGK 1,593 (460 USD) per month. The updated living income for 2025 in rural Papua New Guinea is PGK 1,826 (444 USD) per month. Inflation during this period was 14.6%. Without adjusting for inflation, the living income estimated in 2020 would no longer be sufficient for families to maintain a basic but decent standard of living in 2025, as its purchasing power would have declined.
