Kuriakose Mamkoottam

A postgraduate and doctorate in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, Dr Mamkoottam was Professor of Human Resource Management & Industrial Relations, at the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi and retired in 2011 as Head & Dean, FMS. He was the founding Dean of the School of Business, Public Policy and Social Entrepreneurship, Ambedkar University Delhi (2011-2016) where he also established a Centre for Incubation, Innovation and Entrepreneurship where he served as its chairperson till 2019.

Since 2015 Mamkoottam has been interested in the Anker Living Wage Benchmark methodology and has been actively engaged in assessing living wages and living income for workers in different parts of India.

He has carried out extensive research on Labour, Technology and Industrial Relations in India, Bangladesh, Mauritius, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. He has undertaken training and consulting assignments for organisations in the private, public and multi-national sector, and for the ILO. He was an Independent Director on the Board of companies, NGOs and professional journals and India-EEC Fellow at ESADE Business School, Barcelona.

Mamkoottam’s publications include “Labour & Change” (Sage Publication, 2004),“Trade Unionism: Myth & Reality” (Oxford University Press, 1982), several monographs and research papers in international and domestic journals.
