Reference Value Report: Living Wage & Living Income and 2025 Update for Rural Togo

This report updates the Anker Living Income and Living Wage Reference Values for rural Togo for inflation to 2025. In 2023, as reported in the original study, the Living Income was CFA 149,206 and the Living Wage was CFA 92,764 per month. Cumulative inflation during this period was 4.7%. The updated Living Income for 2025 is CFA 156,230. The updated Anker Gross Living Wage for 2025 is CFA 99,708 per month, comprised of a Net Living Wage of CFA 92,936 plus CFA 6,772 in mandatory payroll deductions, which must be paid by law as contributions to social security (4%), universal health insurance (2.5%), and income tax. Without adjusting for inflation, the Living Wage and Living Income estimated in 2023 would not be sufficient for a basic yet decent standard of living in 2025, due to the erosion of purchasing power.
