This report updates the Anker Living Wage Reference Value for urban Cameroon to 2025. This was CFA 169,894 (USD 281) for 2023 in the original report, comprised of a Net Living Wage of CFA 149,228 (USD 247), plus income tax and a social security contribution of CFA 20,666 (USD 34). The updated Anker Gross Living Wage for 2025 is CFA 196,280 (USD 345) per month, comprised of a Net living Wage of CFA 160,664 (USD 282), plus CFA 35,617 (USD 63) in mandatory pay deductions which would need to be paid by law as a contribution to social security (4.2%), housing fund (1%), and income tax (16.5%). Cumulative inflation during this period was 7.7%. Without adjusting for inflation, the Living Wage estimated in 2023 would not be sufficient for families to have a basic but decent standard of living in 2025, because the purchasing power of the Living Wage would have decreased. Mandatory deductions were calculated using the most up-to-date tax laws.
