2025 Reference Value Update Report: Living Wage Report for Rural Cameroon

Abstract

This report updates the Anker Living Wage Reference Value for rural Cameroon to 2025. The country average Living Wage for rural areas is CFA 135,729 (USD 239) per month, composed of a Net Living Wage of CFA 118,332 (USD 208) and CFA 17,398 (USD 31) in mandatory deductions for social security, housing fund, and income tax. Due to regional disparities, this average is likely too low for relatively wealthier regions. Therefore, the upper confidence bound of the Living Wage Reference Value—CFA 148,448 (USD 261)—is recommended for banana-producing areas in the West, Southwest, and Littoral (excluding Douala).
