This report updates the Anker Living Wage Reference Value for rural Cameroon to 2025. The country average Living Wage for rural areas is composed of a Net Living Wage and mandatory deductions for social security, housing fund, and income tax. Due to regional disparities, this average is likely too low for relatively wealthier regions. Therefore, the upper confidence bound of the Living Wage Reference Value is recommended for banana-producing areas in the West, Southwest, and Littoral (excluding Douala).
Reference Value Report: Living Income Report and 2025 Update for Rural Cameroon
This report updates the Anker Living Income Reference Value for rural Cameroon to 2025. The updated value takes into account the cumulative inflation during this period, which was 26.3%. Without accounting for inflation, the Living Income estimated in 2020 would not be sufficient for families to have a basic but decent standard of living in 2025, because the purchasing power of the Living Income would have decreased.
