Michael Msukuma

Michael Msukuma holds a Master of Science in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, completed through the Collaborative Master’s Programme with the University of Pretoria and sixteen partner universities across Sub‑Saharan Africa. His graduate training specialized in agricultural policy analysis, applied econometrics and quantitative research methods, including project management, monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL).

He has strong expertise in the design and implementation of complex surveys using computer‑assisted personal interviewing (CAPI) tools such as World Bank Survey Solutions, SurveyCTO, REDCap, KoBoToolbox and ODK. His analytical experience spans cross‑sectional, time‑series and panel data, and increasingly integrates data science approaches, including machine‑learning techniques.

Michael is proficient in Stata, R, Python, and GIS for data management, econometric analysis and spatial analysis, as well as Power BI for interactive dashboards. His research interests include energy economics, livelihood adaptation, food security, development finance, health economics and agricultural policy.
