Mirriam Matita

Mirriam Matita has a PhD in Economics from the University of Malawi.  She is also academic staff at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) in Malawi. Her research interests include the application of microeconomics in agriculture policy, commercialization, social protection, and poverty analysis. Her research experience in Malawi includes conducting living income surveys, impact evaluations of input subsidies, longitudinal tracker surveys on commercialization of smallholder farmers and its outcomes on food security, gender, and social differentiation as well as drivers of food choice.  Prior to joining the University, she worked with local and international NGOs in Malawi. She has skills in both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis including hand-on experience using Atlas TI and STATA.
