2025 Reference Value Update Report: Living Wage Report for Urban Egypt
Abstract
This report updates the Anker Living Wage Reference Value for urban Egypt. The updated Anker Living Wage for 2025 consists of a Net Living Wage and mandatory social security contributions and income tax. This update reflects cumulative inflation of 14.4% between June 2024 and June 2025. Mandatory deductions were calculated using the most current tax regulations. Without adjusting for inflation, the original 2024 estimate would not provide workers and their families with a basic but decent standard of living in 2025, as its purchasing power would have declined.

2024 Reference Value Report: Living Wage Report for Urban Egypt
Abstract
The Anker Living Wage Reference Value for urban Egypt reflects the wage required for urban workers to afford a basic but decent living standard in a typical urban area of the country, based on 2024 estimates. This figure incorporates a 95% confidence interval, reflecting the level of certainty in the estimate. The Reference Value comprises a net living wage—i.e., take-home pay—plus an additional amount in taxes and social security which would be payable on the living wage.
